Life story
July 4, 1990

Born on July 4, 1990.

Passed away on June 7, 2008.
June 10, 2010

Nathaniel was my youngest son, born 10 years after our third child. He was special, as all my children are. He was my baby, my partner, the one who went with me just about everywhere for most of his life. When he was 7 years old, he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, and, of course, this caused us to just give him more attention. Nathaniel loved chickens, snakes, dirt bikes, Dodge Muscle cars, hunting, and fishing. Most of all he loved the Lord. He knew how to be happy and because of his diabetes, he thought he'd live to be in his thirties. He was determined to be happy in the time that he did have. He told his dad not long before he died that he was not depressed and he did not hold grudges. He lived life full blast. The day Nathaniel died, 3 weeks after his high school graduation, he was having a great time, swimming with friends. Although he could do many things well, he was not a great swimmer. We will never know if he had a low blood sugar or exactly what happened, but at some point between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on June 7, 2008, Nathaniel drowned. He was located around 16 hours later and our lives will never, ever, be the same. Nathaniel was our only child we had left at home for the last ten years. Now, we have none. It is very sad and lonely and the tears are never far away. We have made it because God comforts our hearts in the way no one else can. We trust Him and long to see Nathaniel again. We love and miss you, Nathaniel! Love, Mom
